Getting Involved

Enfield Homes are committed to involving tenants and leaseholders in the running of Enfield Homes, to ensure that the organisation develops in line with tenants’ needs, by getting involved, you can have more say in how homes and estates are managed and improve the services that you, and all tenants receive.

The Network

The Network provides you with an opportunity to influence how services are delivered and enables you to get involved in a way that suits you.  The Network is open to any resident living on our estates.  Residents can choose to be involved in a variety of ways, for example:

By completing surveys and questionnaires or attending local exhibitions, open days or meetings, you can also choose to get involved in an area that interests you, such as repairs and maintenance or reducing anti-social behaviour.

To join The Network or find out more information, contact Enfield Homes Tenant Involvement Officers on 0800 40 80 160.

Estate inspections

You could get involved in keeping a check on your estate by becoming a Tenant Estate Inspector.

There are currently around 40 Tenant Estate Inspectors, who have all received training in carrying out inspections. Since the scheme was introduced more than 150 blocks have been inspected. The inspectors check the general cleanliness of the area, including lifts and stairwells, and look for graffiti or any other signs of anti-social behaviour.

The estate is then given a star rating and identified issues are reported back to the housing team for action.

If you would like to get involved or find out more information, contact Enfield Homes Tenant Involvement Officers on 0800 40 80 160.

Tenants’ and residents’ associations

Joining a tenants’ and residents’ association gives you the opportunity to work with your neighbours to change things.  It is hard to change things by yourself – but by getting together you have a stronger voice and can really make a difference.

There are over 20 tenants’ and residents’ associations in Enfield and even more informal tenants’ groups. Many of them have secured improvements on their estates by getting together and working towards common interests and goals, by joining or forming an association you can ensure you have a say in what happens on your estate.

Enfield Homes Tenant Involvement Officers can support you and your association by providing practical and financial assistance.  Enfield Homes can provide training for committee members on all aspects of running an association and grant funding for covering expenses.  A Tenant Involvement Officer will attend meetings when invited and can provide information and advice on accessing other services.

If you would like to know if there is an association in your area or for more information contact Enfield Homes Tenant Involvement Officers on 0800 40 80 160

Core Group

Any tenant or leaseholder can become a member of the core group, which meets every two months and also arranges special meetings to address specific issues.  The group promotes equality and diversity for tenants and leaseholders in accessing information and wider participation in the decision making processes of Enfield Homes. Group members raise issues of interest and concern, monitor performance and make recommendations with regards to service delivery and improvements.  The roles and responsibilities of the group are being reviewed and may be subject to change.  Please contact Enfield Homes Tenant Involvement Officers for more information on 0800 40 80 160
