What is Enfield Homes
Enfield Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up and wholly owned by Enfield Council to manage its council housing. It is a limited company governed by a board of directors made up of tenants and leaseholders, local councillors and independent members. The main reasons for forming Enfield Homes is to improve council housing to meet the government’s Decent Homes Standard, to improve housing services and to improve resident involvement in the delivery of services.
From 1 April 2008 Enfield Homes undertook many of the services previously provided by Enfield Council’s housing department and is now responsible for providing services to the tenants and leaseholders of Enfield Council.
Enfield Council will remain the landlord for council housing and will continue to own the freehold interest for leasehold properties.
