In March 1993 I joined Housing Services and worked in estate management at various levels for eight years. During this time I managed various estates in Edmonton, was involved in major works schemes and encouraged residents to become more involved in the delivery of their housing services. In 19951 enrolled at Middlesex University and graduated with an Mac In housing and research. In 2001 I Joined the Tenant Participation Service where I provide had and support to tenants and residents groups throughout the borough, set up groups to deal with specific issues, regeneration and social inclusion initiatives which include providing opportunities for local residents to gain skills and knowledge whilst encouraging them to participate fully in the kale community and services. I believe in customer focused working and tenants and residents having a real opportunity to be involved and through my work in housing have seen the benefits of partnership working.

After spending 17 years working as a Retail Manager and Financial advisor. I decided on a change of profession. In 1994 I enrolled at Addles University on a BA Honour course in Social Policy and Research Methods, graduating in 1997 with an honour degree In both subjects. On 5th January 1998 I joined Enfield Council as a Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) for the Edmonton and Western District Housing Offices, working on the Mews and Avenues estates. My role involved providing a link between residents, housing management staff and contractors ensuring that any problems that arose were dealt with efficiently and quickly to the satisfactions of all concerned. In September 1998 I joined the Tenant Participation Service (later renamed the Tenant Involvement Unit) providing help advice and support to tenants and resident groups throughout the borough. In 1999 I again became an RLO on the Bullsmoor Way estate assisting residents throuhout a refurbishment programme before returning to the Tenant Involvement Unit where I now work providing help and support to 14 residents groups.

I joined the Unit in June 2004 as a Tenant Involvement Officer having worked with residents in Enfield for several years. I have completed various housing and tenant participation related courses including the Chartered Institute of Housing Tenant Participation Pathway Certificate. I am committed to tenant and resident involvement and have witnessed and experienced the benefits and successes that involvement can bring.
